GPS for your startup

[hero]Your life story has seen its ups and downs, maybe you have tried a few things before and failed, but you still have the music inside you. And the inner song is getting a lot louder than before. You believe that this is the right time for you to start your own enterprise. ‘Your Startup Story’ is written specially for you – Thomason Rajan (@artic69)[/hero]

Your Startup StoryEver wished there is some one to help triangulate the position of your business and guide your early stage startup? Now, there is a book that promises to do just that. Authored by Thomason Rajan (@artic69) , a marketing faculty and a consultant based in Bangalore, “Your Startup Story” strives to be a story book which not only makes an interesting read but also be a business guide for startups in India.

The book tries to set itself apart from scores of other business and startup related books out there with its quick-read format, story-telling approach and a focus on Indian startups. The intent is to make it simple enough for even a youngster to understand the basics and at the same time inspire and motivate them to become entrepreneurial.

Now, I’m not sure if it is just me but whenever I grab a new book, the first thing I do is flip it over and read through the book’s back-cover. My read or do-no-read further decision is mostly based on what I feel after reading that little blurb. I did the same thing when I received a copy of this book from the author and here is what you’d see.

[blockquote cite=”Your Startup Story”]You have plans to start a business venture because in your heart, you know that you have the potential and you strongly believe in your idea. You have the intelligence, energy and creativity to run a successful business.

It’s your life! No one can tell you that you will not succeed. There are chances of making initial losses in a business. But that does not make you a failure, because there’s no learning without failing and those who steer through losses, achieve. Believe in the power of your ideas and the possibilities of your future.[/blockquote]

If it did strike a chord as you read that synopsis, then this book is for you.

Thomason adds “This book is your guide to starting a business. It is the story of your startup. As you read, you will put yourself in the shoes of many businesses, get ideas on building the right foundation, learn about the challenges that you will face and enjoy the victories that you will claim while creating your enterprise.

For startups in India, there has never been a better time than now and this book with its Indian flavor is something you might just need as you set out on your entrepreneurial journey.
