With Internet in India fast becoming a common household utility, we’re starting to see a host of web applications being launched at a record pace to help find everything and anything under the sun. While the number of startups in e-commerce, collaborative consumption & sharing economy (in form or the other) since the dawn of Internet is plenty, it doesn’t stop new players from throwing their hats into the ring. eBay, Amazon, Uber and the likes have inspired many entrepreneurs across the world to clone the model and solve similar challenges that exist in their own local markets.
Here is a post from Prashul Agrawal (@prashul) of mycollegeadda on how they plan to bring collaborative consumption to campuses across India.
mycollegeadda.com is an online platform for college students to stay connected and promote collaborative consumption. Accessible through any device, students can post and search for:
- Used Books, Notes, Furniture and Electronics
- House/flat available on rent, nearby to college or partners required to share house/flat
- Carpool available for to and fro trips to college
Here is how it works. Students post free ads on mycollegeadda.com and buyers search for things they need. The transaction between seller and buyer gets completed within the college campus. As a result, college students earn & save money, expand social network and contribute their bit to save environment.
