Received the following message from Rajesh Segu of Zimbra (and formerly with Zoho) claiming to have successfully unlocked iPhone to work with Indian carriers.
It means iPhone got its independence in India and we are no longer restricted by limitations imposed by either Apple or its partners.

Its been a hell of a great day today. We have been trying to crack the iPhone to use it with the Indian service providers. Wow!! We did manage to crack it and make it working after a sh*t lot of restarts, softwares and installations. We got it working with the Vodafone ( Hutch )!!!!!
Here is the photo attached which would prove that its working.
We are totally excited being the early usres of iPhone in India.
Hope you like to put it up in your blog. If you would like to have the steps followed to crack the iPhone I would very much love to send them over.
Time to go shopping!!!! ;-)
